Mayfield Maps Series

Digital colour scans printed on archival paper
1256 x 950mm (various widths) (50 x 37.5 in)

Mayfield Maps are the documents used to plan the digging of graves and the burial of bodies. When dug the graves are marked with a cross and are coloured in when occupied. Paupers are buried here because the land is hardest, and therefore cheapest. Their graves are interspersed amongst all the others but receive no gravestones or markers of any description.
